What is stalking?

'A pattern of behavior directed at a specific person that would cause a reasonable person to fear for their safety or the safety of others, or suffer substantial emotional distress.'

STALKER AWARENESS

Stalking is a serious criminal offense, but many people think of stalkers as a creepy loner hiding behind a tree or driving by their victim’s home.

The truth is a lot more frightening and closer to home as all too often its perpetrated by an  ex or current partner of the victim, or someone else that the victim was previously familiar with.

Typically, Stalking behavior includes following the victim, appearing at their place of work or home, constant phone calls, texts or written messages or damaging their property.  Stalking can occur offline and online, or  both at the same time.

ESPARTA Stalker Awareness training explains how the law works and the defensive procedures you need to take to protect yourself in respect of stalking.
